Gold Rose (their Amouage Gold for Women)
Amouage Gold is an iconic 1980s heavyweight floral — rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, civet, frankincense. The original is still in production at niche-luxury prices. Gold Rose captures the rose-civet-incense core, though it loses some of the resinous depth that defines vintage Amouage Gold. Worth knowing if you want the Gold profile without committing to the original’s price.
Sultan’s Elixir (their Amouage Epic Man)
Epic Man is a complex spicy-oriental — cardamom, cinnamon, oud, jasmine, frankincense. Dua’s interpretation captures the spice-rich opening and the oud-anchored base; the floral heart is less precise than the original. Better in cooler weather where the spice-incense register reads strongest.
Leche de Rose (their original)
One of Dua’s better Original (non-dupe) compositions. A rose-vanilla-milk gourmand that doesn’t try to interpret any specific reference. Useful as a counter-example for the “Dua is only a dupe house” framing — when the brand designs from scratch, the results can be distinctive.
Strengths
- Catalog scale. 1000+ active fragrances means almost any luxury or niche reference is interpreted somewhere. If you have a target scent that no other dupe house has touched, Dua probably has it.
- Niche-Amouage interpretations are a real strength. Desert Reflection, King’s Precious Oud, and several other Amouage takes get consistently strong reviews from the dedicated communities.
- The Hybrid format is genuinely unusual. No other major dupe house blends references like this. Worth knowing about as a creative option.
